ANNUAL HARVEST THANKSGIVING & BAZAAR 2018!
We are Planning Very BIG for Our Harvest Thanksgiving Bazaar this Year.
Come and Join with us in having FUN for the WHOLE FAMILY!
Don't Miss Out!
On this LABOR DAY I pray:
Almighty Creating and Sustaining God, we give You hearty THANKS for the Blessings and the Opportunities of Work and Labor.
You, O God, in the Genesis Creation Narrative, has given to us everything you created, and has permitted/commanded us to appropriate and have dominion over ALL things and EVERYTHING in this WORLD, on the Earth, under the Earth, in the Seas, and in the Skies.
We THANK You, Dear LORD for this great gift and for the honor You bestow us human-beings, created in "Your own image."
Therefore, we pray, grant us the LIFE and Health and Well-being, the Skills, Intellect, Abilities, Strength, Diligence, and all the Resources we need, to enable us fulfill Your Command to us to labor, to be productive in honest gainful employments.
Help ALL Employers-of-Labor and all those in positions of authority for hiring and firing understand that they are to treat ALL employees with respect and dignity, and SHALL NOT withhold any worker's rightful wages/compensations.
Help ALL workers and ALL bosses to ALWAYS be mindful of the Truth that we are all under one TRUE Master and Owner of ALL THINGS: THE LORD GOD.
We pray, give us the wisdom and the desire to take on challenging TASKS that stretch our skills, our imagination and our capabilities, which most often result in joyful satisfaction and GREAT rewards for our efforts.
Help us to take failure, not as a measure of our worth, but as a chance for a new start.

Help us, Lord, to honor everyone in whatever profession, occupation, trade or calling he/she is engaged, respecting the dignity of every labor. Give us the wisdom to understand that each other's labor contributes to overall good order and working of the common weal.
Help those who are not underemployed or believe they are not in the field or area that they are most suited for to change their profession. If it is too late for them to change their profession, O Lord, help them change their perspective, in so doing, get the satisfaction and peace they need to be the best they can be in wherever they are and in whatever they are doing.
Assist us with Your grace, O Lord, that we may live long to enjoy the Fruits of Our Labor, during our Productive Years and at Retirement.
Help us to ALWAYS be mindful of the Truth that ALL THINGS BELONG TO YOU, O GOD, so that with such rightful mindset, we may honor You appropriately with what our labors produce.
Help us that we may EVERYDAY go forth in Your Name, O Lord Our God , to perform our Daily Labor in whatever work You have assigned to us to do in our profession, trade or calling.
May our labor find favor with You, Our Lord God. And may the fullness of Your Blessings be upon us.
This I pray in the Name God the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Fatherhood is an Awesome Blessing with Great Responsibilities.
It is not a one-day-deal.
Our Heavenly Father knows how great and demanding these responsibilities are.
Therefore, our earthly fathers are supported and encouraged by God Himself.
May Our God who has blessed us with the gift of fatherhood grant to all fathers
May Our God who has blessed us with the gift of fatherhood grant to all fathers
the strength, resources, grace, and the opportunities to accomplish these assigned responsibilities and tasks
with ease, joy and gladness EVERYDAY of our life

THE DIOCESAN AND ASSISTING BISHOPS OF
THE DIOCESE OF FORT WORTH
AT THE MASS OF COLLEGIALITY (CHRISM MASS)
may assist us so that we will sincerely, and devoutly acknowledge all our sins against God and against one another; sins committed, through our own faults, in our thoughts, words, deeds, things done and things left undone;
That we may not try to trivialize, rationalize, minimize, or justify our sins; and
That we may always bear in mind that God is the One unto whom the innermost thoughts of our hearts and minds are open and known; the One unto whom all our desires are known, and from whom NO secrets are hidden.
May this Season be for each and every one of us the observance of a Holy Lent, a season of self-examination and genuine repentance; and
That by praying, fasting, and self-denial of some worldly pleasure; and by reading and meditating on God’s Holy Word we may obtain the fullest benefits of this holy season.
May the Lord grant us true repentance of our sins and wrong-doing and His forgiveness; and
May the Holy Spirit assist us to live in such manner that the rest of our life from this day forward may be pure and holy, so that at the end of our life we may come to His eternal Joy and Glory; through Jesus Christ Our Lord. AMEN.

IN DEEP MOURNING FOR THE 5 DALLAS POLICE OFFICERS
ASSASSINATED ON FRIDAY JULY 7, 2016.
Praying that Our Leaders lead instead of divide and rule

June 28 is Feast of St. Irenaeus
The Early Church and Christianity benefited greatly from the writings and teachings of Irenaeus(c.130 – 202 AD).
Irenaeus was an Early Church Father and apologist who fought against Gnosticism. His writings were formative in the early development of Christian theology, long before the articulation of the orthodox doctrine of Christianity as encapsulated in the Nicene Creed - which came over a century after his death. The development of systematic theology can be rightly attributed to Irenaeus. He was a student of St. Polycarp, who himself was a disciple of St. John the Evangelist.
Gnosticism is a heretical teaching and belief that the Gnostics possessed a secret oral tradition from Jesus himself. St. Irenaeus challenged and attacked Gnosticism in his principal work, which consists of five books in a work entitled Adversus Haereses (Against Heresies). The Gnostics despised the flesh and exalted the spirit. Irenaeus countered that God created the body, and that the body is not inherently evil.
The polemical work of Irenaeus, as a priest (presbyter) and later as the Bishop of Lyon (France), his teaching and interpretation of Scripture provided the doctrinal positions of the Christian Church in faith and sacred scripture. St. Augustine of Hippo, and later St. Thomas Aquinas, were also greatly endowed by God with truly great minds and sharp intellects that tower over all others. These were the stalwarts of Christianity, and their lives and teachings illuminated Christianity, and the world was changed for the better and for ever by these blessed Fathers of the Church.
Today, we Christians, and the rest of the world are enjoying the blessings from the godly men and women of past generations with whom God found favor and used greatly for the spread of Gospel and for the service of the Lord and His Church and of the world. To God be the Glory!

A Pastoral Letter from the Bishop | |
Dear Friends in Christ,
We rejoice in today’s ruling by the Texas Supreme
Court overturning the summary judgment in favor of The Episcopal Church.
The Supreme Court ruled that the Trial Court erred in deferring to the
TEC rather than subjecting TEC’s property claims to the same neutral
principles of law that apply to everyone else. The Trial Court must now
reconsider the merits of the case based upon neutral principles of law,
and we are confident that we will prevail when TEC is subjected to
neutral principles of Texas law. In sum, while today’s opinions are not a
final victory, they indicate that a final victory is only a matter of
time.
The decision in our case must be considered in the
light of the Supreme Court’s ruling in a related case, also announced
today – that of the Church of the Good Shepherd, San Angelo. Here too
the Court reversed lower court opinions in favor of TEC and directed the
trial court to decide that case based upon neutral principles of law,
rather than deference to an hierarchical church.
Notably, in the Good Shepherd case the Supreme
Court ruled that a not-for-profit corporation in Texas can change its
articles of incorporation and bylaws, and that such revisions are
secular matters, not ecclesiastical ones. The Corporation of our
Diocese, which holds title to all our church property, is governed by
Texas corporate law and has authority to control its own affairs without
interference from TEC or other parties. TEC’s argument – that its
national officers can remove officers of a Texas corporation by decree –
simply doesn’t comply with Texas law.
As you know, TEC’s claim to our local church
property is based upon what is known as “the Dennis Canon.” However,
the Supreme Court has ruled that any trust that might have been created
by the Dennis Cannon was revocable under Texas law. Our Diocese never
acceded to the Dennis Cannon when it was formed, and our Diocesan
Convention specifically revoked any such trust interest by TEC more than
20 years ago. Today’s decisions effectively remove the Dennis Canon as
a viable argument in Texas property disputes.
We wish to express our gratitude to the justices
of the Supreme Court for the hard work that went into these two cases,
as evidenced by the time it took them to reach a decision. We also are
deeply grateful for the counsel and guidance of our team of lawyers who
are representing us in these legal proceedings – Scott Brister, Shelby
Sharpe, and David Weaver. We thank them for their wisdom and expertise.
I am especially grateful to all of you, the clergy
and laity of this Diocese, for your faithfulness and support during
this trying period of time. May God continue to bless you for your
courage and steadfastness in the faith. Patience and prayer are still
required, but in the end, we will prevail.
The Rt. Rev. Jack Leo Iker

CELEBRATING
THE BIRTH OF THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH:
THE DAY OF PENTECOST.
**************************************************
“Common Prayer” means Public Prayer, (ie. The Book of Common Prayer means The Book for Public Worship). The BCP was originally published in English, so that the people could hear the Word of God and actively participate in the Worship of God in their vernacular. This means that the monarch and bishop as well as the priest and peasant all used this prayer book, in the language of the people.
The BCP has enriched and blessed Christianity, and indeed the world, with vast spiritual and liturgical resources, to the Glory of God!
**************************************************
May 29, 2012, marks the 463 years of Publishing of
The BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER (BCP) in England in 1549.
The
Book of Common Prayer was first published in 1549. It was briefly
outlawed (1552) during the reign of Mary I. The Elizabethan Religious
Settlement of 1559 was implemented to end the catholic – protestant
controversy in the Church of England. It included the Act of Supremacy – 1559 which returned ecclesiastical authority to the monarch.
The Act of Uniformity – 1662 required the use of the BCP 1662 in all services of the Church of England. The
changes incorporated in the BCP 1662 included the use of the King James
Version of the Bible for the text of the Epistles and Gospels, a
Baptism service for adults and formal inclusion of the Psalter and the
Ordinal. The BCP 1662 was for centuries, and to this day, "The Prayer
Book".
The BCP has enriched and blessed Christianity, and indeed the world, with vast spiritual and liturgical resources, to the Glory of God!
The Book of Common Prayer (Ekpere na Abu/Akwukwo Ekpere) directly
contributed (more than any) to the development of the Igbo Language. By
insisting on having the Holy Bible and the Prayer Book in the Language
of the People, the Anglican Missions, over the centuries gave rise to
the development of indigenous languages the world over. What a
BLESSING!!
I
pray the Lord bless His Holy Word and strengthen all who honor the Holy
Writ, as “heaven and earth will pass away, but, My (His) words will by
no means pass away”, says Christ in Matt. 24:35; Mark 13:31, and Luke 21:33.
May the Lord bless and keep us all, as we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, and in the Name of Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.
